Golfer’s elbow, the two words no golfer ever wants to hear! Are you sick and tired of wearing elbow braces or rubbing sports creams just to get through a round of golf? Then definitely check out today’s coaching because I have two easy stretches to not only eliminate this condition but also reduce the severity if it ever comes back again.
WHAT IS GOLFER’S ELBOW
Golfer’s elbow is a condition where pain is felt on the inside part of the elbow. The funny thing is that we call all pain in the inner elbow golfer’s elbow, regardless of if people play golf or not.
The reason for this issue is that most people lack rotation of the elbow. Yep, rotation of the elbow is a real thing, and if your elbow can’t do it, pain is sure to follow.
In order for us to make this pain go away we first need to create more rotation in the elbows, and then learn to control the rotation. The other bonus of this series is you’ll actually start gaining more control in your swing since you’ll have better functioning elbows.
The best part is these are really easy to do. Check out the coaching video above to see for yourself.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Something similar to a rolling stick that’s at least 12 inches long. Other options include a spatula, wooden spoon, a rolling pin…just something sturdy you can create leverage.
Optional: Grab a hand towel that you can squeeze between your elbow and your body.
HOW TO PROGRAM THIS IN YOUR ROUTINE
The passive stretch and isometrics can be done 2-3 times per week preferably before swinging the club. The elbow rotations can be done all day everyday…the more the better.
